Men's Ministry
Men's Ministry is about finding purpose in Christ, developing positive friendships with other men and becoming productive in the Kingdom of God.
Definite Purpose
At First Church Lacey, we strive to bring men together in unity as friends, working in integrity and ministering in spirituality.
Our men gather once a quarter for an event geared to the men. We have been on Hike and Prayer, visited Car Shows, spent Saturday mornings in Breakfast and Word and other similar events.
There is a Washington State UPCI Men's Conference every February that we enjoy attending. Here, you'll find men worshipping and growing with men around the state.
Positive Friendships
Every man desires to feel appreciated, needed, and productive. In the Men’s group, we endeavor to connect as friends. We encourage interaction as prayer partners, spiritual mentors, or just enjoy fishing, hunting, golfing, etc., all the while keeping Jesus in the center of our relationships. While finding and fulfilling our purpose in the body of Christ, we work together arm-in-arm while placing value in each other. By pursuing a relationship with God, while relying on the strength of our brothers, we can all become triumphant, mighty men in Christ Jesus.
A Lesson from King David
"These be the names of the mighty men whom David had…” II Samuel 23:8 “…David escaped from that place and fled to the cave at Adullam. When his brothers and all the rest of his family heard about it, they went to him. Then everyone who was in trouble, in debt, or bitter about life joined him, and he became their commander. There were about four hundred men with him.” (1 Samuel 22:1-2)
David was a man whose character encouraged loyalty; because of this, he gained a following of men, once known as “ordinary,” that came to be known as “David’s mighty men.” God is looking for ordinary men to fill with His Spirit and His grace; He longs to make us mighty men of valor in His kingdom.
Who's Your Best Friend?
In a recent survey, when men were asked to name their best friends, 75% replied with the name of a friend from high school. However, most had not spoken to this person in five to seven years.
Psalm 37:23-24 KJV
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
